The roof is covered!!! Well... mostly.

The roof is mostly covered and they should have the outside done by the end of next week!

The part of the roof that you that isn't covered is the only part not done yet.

  1. Do you have any more updates on the house? It would be great to see how it all comes together. :) Looks like the roof went up well. One thing to keep the roof in prime service condition is to check up on it annually and patch up any damages. It might also work for you to befriend someone who has all-around knowledge of house maintenance. This way, you would have a go-to-guy, or girl, for any house maintenance or repair advice that you would need. :)

  2. Keep tabs on your downspouts and gutters in the late fall. It is best to clean them after the trees have shed their leaves. Leaves, dirt, and other debris may clog your gutters and this may lead to roof damage.

  3. Well, since you live near trees, make sure to watch out for pests that can thrive in the weak spots on your roof. Inspect the roof as often as possible, and be sure to patch up small damage, since termites or even vermin can live in cracks and spaces. These damage, when treated early on, can save you from further troubles along the road, and from possible pest infestation.

  4. You may also want to watch out for moss growth that may thrive on your roof, since you are near a lot of trees. There are special products available in the market that can protect your roof from such. Just be sure to ask your trusted hardware salesperson for advice on what to choose.

  5. I bet your house is all done by now. Your next job is to check for any inconspicuous damage that might be overlooked by your contractor. Report it immediately, so that they can fix it free of charge. If you report it later, they might tell you that the negligence was on your part, and they might charge you for any concerns that you want to fix.
